Law Office of Walter A. Twachtman, Jr., J.D., LL.M., LLC was founded by Walter A. Twachtman Jr., who has been practicing in Connecticut for more than 50 years. Mr. Twachtman has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut, where he obtained his law degree from the institution’s School of Law in 1967. Shortly after admission to the bar, he served as a law clerk to Associate Justice Howard W. Alcorn of the Connecticut Supreme Court. He later augmented his education with a master’s of law degree in elder law and estate planning from Western New England University in 2013.
Mr. Twatchtman’s practice focuses primarily on elder law and estate planning, but he also has experience handling real estate legal cases, land use and zoning, and environmental law. He has lectured on medical legal issues for the schools of nursing at the University of Connecticut and the University of Massachusetts.
He has been active over the years in the estate and probate, elder law, construction law, real property, environmental law, and planning and zoning sections of the Connecticut Bar Association. He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He also maintains membership in the Hartford County Bar Association, the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association and the American Bar Association.
